Thanks for stopping by! My name is Kate and I love anything and everything sweet. Growing up in Sioux Falls, I always enjoyed the process of baking and the satisfaction it gave me when a recipe turned out well. More importantly, I enjoyed it because it made others feel thought of, cared for, and loved - which is something I think we can all use a little more of in life!
For these reasons, I decided to complete a Pastry and Baking Certificate program in the Twin Cities in addition to the business operations management degree I had previously earned. I began my pastry career in a Whole Foods bakery, waking early to mix and bake the bread, as well as decorate cakes. Not long after, I found a small cupcake shop where I gained knowledge about from-scratch baking and decorating for everything from cakes and French macarons to curds and scones. Eventually finding myself in the position of head baker at this shop, I developed even further experience with custom orders and worked with many brides to create memorable desserts for their big day.
Although I enjoyed my time in the Twin Cities, I felt it was time to move back to Sioux Falls to be closer to family and return to the city I've always considered "home." But I didn't leave my love for baking and decorating behind! Through Blush Bakery, I hope to help bring even more joy to your special days and just a little more sugar to your everydays. I'm excited to continue this sweet journey of mine by providing you with delicious desserts for any occasion, that are just as impressive to taste as they are at first blush. ;)
